* lang/smalltalk: apply some minor corrections to the port's Makefile (+)Alexey Dokuchaev2024-06-192-22/+253
| | | | | | | | | - Restore linking against `math/gmp' which had been disabled in r73446 (now commit ae50e2b416e79) without an explanation - Unfold PORTDATA=* back to static plist entries by partially reverting r253699 (now commit ff234fed369c3) to help track, admittedly, stalled project's development and assess the changes better - Trim USE_XORG list, switch to USE_GNOME=cairo, sort LIB_DEPENDS, etc.

* lang/smalltalk: use modern memory managementBrooks Davis2023-12-112-4/+60
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The memory allocator defaults to some horrifying complex code to manage mmap'd allocations. On system where MAP_NORESERVE is defined (Linux) it uses a much simpler approach relying on memory overcommit. Enable this code on FreeBSD by defining MAP_NORESERVE to 0 (all allocations are MAP_NORESERVE on FreeBSD unless a sysctl is set). Entierly disable the other code path as it (somewhat gratutiously) uses sbrk. Approved by: danfe (maintainer) Sponsord by: DARPA Differential Revision: https://reviews.freebsd.org/D42974

* Remove WWW entries moved into port MakefilesStefan Eßer2022-09-071-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | Commit b7f05445c00f has added WWW entries to port Makefiles based on WWW: lines in pkg-descr files. This commit removes the WWW: lines of moved-over URLs from these pkg-descr files. Approved by: portmgr (tcberner)
* Add WWW entries to port MakefilesStefan Eßer2022-09-071-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It has been common practice to have one or more URLs at the end of the ports' pkg-descr files, one per line and prefixed with "WWW:". These URLs should point at a project website or other relevant resources. Access to these URLs required processing of the pkg-descr files, and they have often become stale over time. If more than one such URL was present in a pkg-descr file, only the first one was tarnsfered into the port INDEX, but for many ports only the last line did contain the port specific URL to further information. There have been several proposals to make a project URL available as a macro in the ports' Makefiles, over time. This commit implements such a proposal and moves one of the WWW: entries of each pkg-descr file into the respective port's Makefile. A heuristic attempts to identify the most relevant URL in case there is more than one WWW: entry in some pkg-descr file. URLs that are not moved into the Makefile are prefixed with "See also:" instead of "WWW:" in the pkg-descr files in order to preserve them. There are 1256 ports that had no WWW: entries in pkg-descr files. These ports will not be touched in this commit. The portlint port has been adjusted to expect a WWW entry in each port Makefile, and to flag any remaining "WWW:" lines in pkg-descr files as deprecated. Approved by: portmgr (tcberner)

* Install texinfo files (GNU info) into ${PREFIX}/share/infoBaptiste Daroussin2018-11-101-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | After a discussion on the mailing list on moving manpages to ${PREFIX}/share/man for consistency with base where it is installed in usr/share/man, it appeared the same should happen to GNU info files which were installed under share in base and not in ports. Now texinfo is not in base on any of the supported version of FreeBSD it is possible to proceed to this move and it is easier to do than the manpage change. Other benefit than consistency are less patching: all build tools but cmake are expecting info files to be under share/info and cmake (patched here) was having an exception for BSD so the patch makes FreeBSD case less specific for them Bump revision of all impacted ports PR: 232907 exp-run by: antoine Differential Revision: https://reviews.freebsd.org/D17816 Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=484628

* By default libtool replaces -export-symbols <file> with -retain-symbols-fileTijl Coosemans2015-08-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | <file> on ELF systems, but this doesn't really do what -export-symbols is meant to do. On GNU ELF systems it converts <file> to a simple version script first and then uses -version-script instead of -retain-symbols-file. Let USES=libtool patch libtool scripts to do this on all systems with GNU ld(1). Bump PORTREVISION on all ports where the build log contains -export-symbols. audio/calf: This port builds a module that now exports only one function, but it also builds a number of executables that link to this module and expect to see other functions. Because it's already a bit dodgy to link to a module (libtool warns about this) let the module continue to export only one function and instead build an ordinary library from the same source that the executables can link to. Fix a number of other issues in the same Makefile.am and clean up the port Makefile. japanese/scim-honoka: Tries to hide all symbols that start with an underscore, but because this library is written in C++ all symbols start with _Z so it ends up hiding everything. Just don't hide anything at all like the textproc/scim configure script does. multimedia/schroedinger: Apply an upstream patch. textproc/scim-input-pad: Same as japanese/scim-honoka. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | - Add --localstatedir=/var to _LATE_CONFIGURE_ARGS (like --mandir) but not when CONFIGURE_ARGS already sets it. (GNU configure scripts set it to PREFIX/var when PREFIX != /usr.) - Add --localstatedir="${PREFIX}/var" to CONFIGURE_ARGS in some ports so they aren't affected by this change (for now at least). This commit is meant to ensure that new ports don't make the same mistake. - games/acm: the configure script in this port is very old; instead of patching it more, just replace GNU_CONFIGURE with HAS_CONFIGURE. - irc/charybdis: it already used /var but adding --localstatedir=/var changed the behaviour of the configure script; adjust the port to this. Bump PORTREVISION on their dependent ports except the ones that depend on these: audio/libogg audio/libvorbis devel/pcre ftp/curl graphics/jpeg graphics/libart_lgpl graphics/tiff textproc/expat2 textproc/libxslt In these cases the same trick as in the recent gettext update is used. The ports install a symlink with the old library version. When enough of their dependent ports have had regular updates the remaining ones can get a PORTREVISION bump and the links can be removed. Also remove the devel/pcre dependency from USE_GNOME=glib20. It causes over 2200 packages to depend on devel/pcre while less than 200 actually link with it. The glib20 package still depends on devel/pcre so this should not make a difference for ports with USE_GNOME=glib20. Also, libdata/pkgconfig/glib-2.0.pc lists pcre as a private library so USE_GNOME=glib20 should not propagate it. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | a zeising, kwm production, with help from dumbbell, bdrewery: NEW XORG ON FREEBSD 9-STABLE AND 10-STABLE This update switches over to use the new xorg stack by default on FreeBSD 9 and 10 stable, on osversions where vt(9) is available. It is still possible to use the old stack by specifying WITHOUT_NEW_XORG in /etc/make.conf . FreeBSD 8-STABLE and released versions of FreeBSD still use the old version. A package repository with binary packages for new xorg will be available soon. This patch also contains updates of libxcb and related ports, pixman, as well as some drivers and utilities. Bump portrevisions for xf86-* ports, as well as virtualbox-ose-additions due to xserver version change. Apart from these updates, the way shared libraries are handled has been changed for all xorg ports, as well as libxml2 and freetype, which means ltverhack is gone and as a consequence shared libraries have been bumped. The plan is that this change will make library bumps less likely in the future. All affected ports have had their portrevisions bumped as a consequence of this. Fix some issues where WITH_NEW_XORG weren't detected properly on CURRENT.
