Libao is a cross-platform audio library that allows programs to output
audio using a simple API on a wide variety of platforms.  It currently
supports:
   * Open Sound System (Linux, *BSD)
   * ESounD
   * Advanced Linux Sound Architecture
   * Solaris (untested)
   * IRIX (untested)
   * WAV files
