2024-12-12multimedia/pwcbsd: only provide the kernel moduleBaptiste Daroussin3-60/+6
pwcview(1) is provided by another port: multimedia/pwcview (same version provided). reduce this port to only provide the kernel modules. While working on provide a repos per releases for kernel modules, having ports that only provide the kernel modules simplifies the work, it also make this port cross buildable which is how the kernel module repositories are provided.

2022-09-07Remove WWW entries moved into port MakefilesStefan Eßer1-2/+0
Commit b7f05445c00f has added WWW entries to port Makefiles based on WWW: lines in pkg-descr files. This commit removes the WWW: lines of moved-over URLs from these pkg-descr files. Approved by: portmgr (tcberner)
2022-09-07Add WWW entries to port MakefilesStefan Eßer1-0/+1
It has been common practice to have one or more URLs at the end of the ports' pkg-descr files, one per line and prefixed with "WWW:". These URLs should point at a project website or other relevant resources. Access to these URLs required processing of the pkg-descr files, and they have often become stale over time. If more than one such URL was present in a pkg-descr file, only the first one was tarnsfered into the port INDEX, but for many ports only the last line did contain the port specific URL to further information. There have been several proposals to make a project URL available as a macro in the ports' Makefiles, over time. This commit implements such a proposal and moves one of the WWW: entries of each pkg-descr file into the respective port's Makefile. A heuristic attempts to identify the most relevant URL in case there is more than one WWW: entry in some pkg-descr file. URLs that are not moved into the Makefile are prefixed with "See also:" instead of "WWW:" in the pkg-descr files in order to preserve them. There are 1256 ports that had no WWW: entries in pkg-descr files. These ports will not be touched in this commit. The portlint port has been adjusted to expect a WWW entry in each port Makefile, and to flag any remaining "WWW:" lines in pkg-descr files as deprecated. Approved by: portmgr (tcberner)

2021-10-29*/*: Remove redundant '-[0-9]*' from CONFLICTSStefan Eßer1-1/+1
The conflict checks compare the patterns first against the package names without version (as reported by "pkg query "%n"), then - if there was no match - agsinst the full package names including the version (as reported by "pkg query "%n-%v"). Many CONFLICTS definitions used patterns like "bash-[0-9]*" to filter for the bash package in any version. But that pattern is functionally identical with just "bash". Approved by: portmgr (blanket)

the 32 ports that still use it. Bump PORTREVISION on their dependent ports except the ones that depend on these: audio/libogg audio/libvorbis devel/pcre ftp/curl graphics/jpeg graphics/libart_lgpl graphics/tiff textproc/expat2 textproc/libxslt In these cases the same trick as in the recent gettext update is used. The ports install a symlink with the old library version. When enough of their dependent ports have had regular updates the remaining ones can get a PORTREVISION bump and the links can be removed. Also remove the devel/pcre dependency from USE_GNOME=glib20. It causes over 2200 packages to depend on devel/pcre while less than 200 actually link with it. The glib20 package still depends on devel/pcre so this should not make a difference for ports with USE_GNOME=glib20. Also, libdata/pkgconfig/glib-2.0.pc lists pcre as a private library so USE_GNOME=glib20 should not propagate it. 2013-09-20SSP support has been added to ports with WITH_SSP for i386 and amd64Bryan Drewery1-0/+2
on FreeBSD 10, and amd64 on earlier versions. SSP_UNSAFE is added to disable in a port if it fails to build, but this should only be used in rare circumstances such as kernel modules. Otherwise, the port may just be failing due to lack of respecting LDFLAGS. On FreeBSD 10, this uses an ldscript in /usr/lib/libc.so to pull in libssp_nonshared.a to address issues linking on i386 [1]. On earlier FreeBSD versions the WITH_SSP knob will add -lssp_nonshared to LDFLAGS on i386. This is not needed on amd64. However, several hundred ports do not currently respect LDFLAGS, so this support is disabled currently as it causes build failures if a dependency is looking for the stack_chk symbols. Many thanks to jlh@ for this as he had many years of patience in getting all of the necessary pieces [1][2] in.
