2005-01-20Please welcome new participant of FreeBSD ports tree and Java portsAlexey Zelkin1-81/+0
family -- first public patchset of native Sun JDK 1.5.0 port. Most valuable addition of this patchset is native amd64 support. And special thanks goes to Daniel Seuffert <ds@freeBSD.org> for making it possible by providing amd64 hardware. This patchset was tested on following configurations: i386/4.10, i386/5.3, amd64/5.3. 5.3-RELEASE support is quite strong and shown no huge visible problems over last week. But even mentioning above note, keep in mind -- THIS IS ALPHA PATCHSET and suitable for testers/developers ONLY! Known issues are including (but for sure not limited to): . Browser plugin support is missing . JVMTI, JDWP and JMX are not tested yet . FreeBSD i386/4.10 support is suffering from hidden memory allocation failres (ideas and patches are welcome) NOTE ABOUT BOOTSTRAPING: It's possible to bootstrap jdk 1.5.0 using jdk 1.4.2 (either native or linux one). There's no need to have java/linux_jdk15 installed and working. Supported by: FreeBSD Foundation Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=126909
2003-11-11Update to 1.4.2p5.Alexey Zelkin1-1/+1
Important changes since last patchset: . jdk14 port is now JDK 1.4.2 based! . JavaWS distributing with jdk . Runway problem fixed (fork() is no more problem for java apps) . Sound support updated . IPv6 support overhauled . Drag'n'Drop support fixed (require open-motif mods) As for now there's no more outstanding issues with this port! FreeBSD port is also got a important of changes: . optimized setup is now default (to get debuging bins/libs use WITH_DEBUG) . bootstrap jdk autodetection. If WITH_LINUX_BOOTSTRAP is not set, then it checks all known to work JDKs installed. If nothing found, forces to install of linux-sun-jdk14 . Because of above change there's no NATIVE_BOOTSTRAP option anymore. If native jdk14 is installed, it will be used by default. Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=93743

2002-09-17- C++ support: fix to work also on -current, work around broken exceptionAlexander Leidinger1-1/+1
handling when generating shared objects with binutils/ld 2.12.[0,1], link in the icc C++ ABI definitions not those of gcc - remove libcprts (STL): it has unresolvable glibc dependencies in both, dynamic and static, versions, therefore is not usable and entirely unneeded when libstlport is used instead - add libimf (Intel's optimized math functions library), while there's no measurable speed improvement (at least for the functions tested) in comparison to FreeBSD's libm beyond the "normal" icc vs. gcc boost icc occasionally produces code depending on libimf when told to optimize for Pentium 4 - replace the ld-script with a wrapper written in C as (c)sh is a bit limited and long winded for that purpose - minor stuff and cleanup Submitted by: marius@alchemy.franken.de Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=66502
2002-08-20- add category: develAlexander Leidinger1-7/+4
- use reinplace command where appropriate - gzip man page - clarify download instructions (1) - fix typo in a comment (2) - preparation for successfull C++ compiles (2, minor changes by me) Even if I bumped the port revision for the C++ parts, there's no need to update yet, wait until I commit the icc-stlport. Requested by: mi (1) Submitted by: Marius Strobl <marius@alchemy.franken.de> (2) Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=64689
2000-12-08* Remove the Linux -dynamic-linker specification from the `ld' execution.David E. O'Brien1-0/+35
Luckly our `ld' knows the name of our dynamic linker and DTRT. * Remove the DECpaq shared libs from the standard search dir as linking with them gives unresolved symbols. Thus we'll use the .a's for now. * Add the symbols __errno_location, __ieee_get_fp_control, and __ieee_set_fp_control (mapped to native interfaces) to the static Compaq Portable Math Library. Thus all symbols are resolved. This allows `CC=ccc' to build fully native FreeBSD Alpha binaries. Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=35768
