* Remove WWW entries moved into port MakefilesStefan Eßer2022-09-071-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | Commit b7f05445c00f has added WWW entries to port Makefiles based on WWW: lines in pkg-descr files. This commit removes the WWW: lines of moved-over URLs from these pkg-descr files. Approved by: portmgr (tcberner)
* Add WWW entries to port MakefilesStefan Eßer2022-09-071-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It has been common practice to have one or more URLs at the end of the ports' pkg-descr files, one per line and prefixed with "WWW:". These URLs should point at a project website or other relevant resources. Access to these URLs required processing of the pkg-descr files, and they have often become stale over time. If more than one such URL was present in a pkg-descr file, only the first one was tarnsfered into the port INDEX, but for many ports only the last line did contain the port specific URL to further information. There have been several proposals to make a project URL available as a macro in the ports' Makefiles, over time. This commit implements such a proposal and moves one of the WWW: entries of each pkg-descr file into the respective port's Makefile. A heuristic attempts to identify the most relevant URL in case there is more than one WWW: entry in some pkg-descr file. URLs that are not moved into the Makefile are prefixed with "See also:" instead of "WWW:" in the pkg-descr files in order to preserve them. There are 1256 ports that had no WWW: entries in pkg-descr files. These ports will not be touched in this commit. The portlint port has been adjusted to expect a WWW entry in each port Makefile, and to flag any remaining "WWW:" lines in pkg-descr files as deprecated. Approved by: portmgr (tcberner)

* */*: Remove redundant '-[0-9]*' from CONFLICTSStefan Eßer2021-10-291-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The conflict checks compare the patterns first against the package names without version (as reported by "pkg query "%n"), then - if there was no match - agsinst the full package names including the version (as reported by "pkg query "%n-%v"). Many CONFLICTS definitions used patterns like "bash-[0-9]*" to filter for the bash package in any version. But that pattern is functionally identical with just "bash". Approved by: portmgr (blanket)

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | locale set by the user. Add LANG=C and LC_ALL=C at the beginning of bsd.port.mk and export them so all commands are executed with the C locale. LC_ALL=C overrides all other LC_* variables. LANG is used by setlocale(3) as default value for LC_* variables, so normally it isn't used when LC_ALL is set, but there's code out there that looks at LANG directly so it's safer to set it as well. The only commands not captured by this are != assignments before any inclusion of bsd.port.*mk. Introduce USE_LOCALE=<locale> that adds LANG=<locale> and LC_ALL=<locale> to CONFIGURE_ENV and MAKE_ENV so upstream build systems can be executed with a different locale (e.g. USE_LOCALE=en_US.UTF-8). | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | XFree86 (3 or 4) to depend to when USE_XLIB is set. XFREE86_VERSION defaults to 3 for now, but adventurous users can override it in /etc/make.conf. When XFREE86_VERSION=3, USE_XLIB will add a dependency to x11/XFree86; when it is set to 4, the dependency will be to x11/XFree86-4-libraries. When XFREE86_VERSION=4, the PKG_IGNORE_DEPENDS and ALWAYS_BUILD_DEPENDS hacks to avoid messing with XFree86 are turned off. Since XFree86 version 4 includes some software that used to be separate ports, when XFREE86_VERSION=3 the following variables are provided: USE_DGS LIB_DEPENDS on x11/dgs USE_FREETYPE LIB_DEPENDS on print/freetype USE_MESA LIB_DEPENDS on graphics/Mesa3 USE_XPM LIB_DEPENDS on graphics/xpm When XFREE86_VERSION=4, these variables have no effect. The LIB_DEPENDS in the tree for the above four ports have all been converted to the USE_* counterparts. For your information, this is the count of the number of ports: USE_DGS 0 USE_FREETYPE 16 USE_MESA 36 USE_XPM 236 There is a new variable, XAWVER, which is set to 6 when XFREE86_VERSION=3 and 7 when XFREE86_VERSION=4. This is also passed to PLIST_SUB so ports that build Xaw based shared libraries can use this variable to substitute the shlib version number. There is also a provision of using a separate mtree file for XFREE86_VERSION=4, but that part is not enabled yet.
