* Presenting GNOME 2.26 for FreeBSD. SeeJoe Marcus Clarke2009-04-103-16/+30
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | http://library.gnome.org/misc/release-notes/2.26/ for a list of what's new. On the FreeBSD front, we introduced a port of libxul 1.9 as an alternative for Firefox 2.0 as a Gecko provider. Almost all of the Gecko consumers can make use of this provider by setting: WITH_GECKO=libxul The GNOME 2.26 port was done by ahze, kwm, marcus, and mezz with contributions by Joseph S. Atkinson, Peter Wemm, Eric L. Chen, Martin Matuska, Craig Butler, and Pawel Worach. Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=231972

* Here are new Linux Fedora 8 infrastructure ports.Boris Samorodov2009-04-0113-98/+74
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The recommended version of FreeBSD to use them is 8-CURRENT. FreeBSD-7.x is not fully compatible with compat.linux.osrelease 2.6.16. Some syscalls cannot be MFCed due to native FreeBSD ABI breakage. Usage (and package building): 1. define compat.linux.osrelease=2.6.16; 2. add following variables to /etc/make.conf: . OVERRIDE_LINUX_BASE_PORT=f8; . OVERRIDE_LINUX_NONBASE_PORTS=f8. Approved by: bsam (me) ;-) Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=231438
* Finish repocopies of new linux-f8 infrastructure ports:Boris Samorodov2009-04-012-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | . add CONFLICTS to 47 original ports; . bump PORTREVISIONs for all of them; . pet portlint for 2-3 ports (misplaced PORTREVISION). Notes: svn path=/head/; revision=231432

* Welcome to the new linux ports infrastructure which allows usingBoris Samorodov2009-03-193-6/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | both current (fc4) and future linux (f8) distributions at one ports tree. The patch contains full changes to ports/Mk files and all ports involved. But only infrastructure is changed. The resulting packages are the same as before. Hence no need to bump PORTREVISIONs. The idea was taken from bsd.gnome.mk and others. More than 130 ports are switched to follow a new linux infrastructure introduced by changes to bsd.port.mk, bsd.linux-rpm.mk and a new bsd.linux-apps.mk. Thanks for all who was involved and helped me with this work. And help from Alexander Leidinger was incredible. Other changes are coming. Stay tuned! * CamlBZ2 provides OCaml bindings for libbz2 (AKA bzip2), a popular compressionRenato Botelho2009-02-254-0/+55
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | library which typically compresses better (i.e., smaller resulting files) than gzip. Using CamlBZ2 you can read and write compressed "files", where files can be anything offering an in_channel/out_channel abstraction (files, sockets, ...). Also, with CamlBZ2 you can compress and decompress strings in memory using the bzip2 compression algorithm.
